Meeting: 2 p.m. at the bottom of the Alpin Express station.
After gaining some hight with the Alpin Express cable-car and the Egginerjoch ski lift it's only a short ascent to reach the Britannia hut. You will appreciate the warm welcome of the hut keeper. Have a nice dinner in the hut, share experience with the locals and get ready for the next day.
The other day, we will ski from Britannia Hut down to the lower part of Allalin glacier. We will cross the famous glacier to reach the Adlerpass (3789m) where you can enjoy a first look at the Monte Rosa group and the last ascent, which leads over a broad snow field to the summit ridge. Take some drinks and snacks with you. They will help you to make it to the top! The way up is demanding as the lanscape is breathtaking. The last few metres to the summit cross will reward you with a spectacular panoramic view over Northern Italy to the Po Valley on clear days. Enjoy the feeling to have accomplish a wonderfull way up to one of the 4000m peaks of the Alps.
On the way down to the lake of Mattmark and further to Saas-Almagel you will enjoy the great backcountry of the Saas Valley.
