Alpine Canyon Adventure

This spectacular tour from Saas-Fee to Saas Grund is by far the most beautiful and thrilling way of connecting the two villages. The trail passes through natural canyons, caves, water falls and alpine vegetation. In addition, you will experience zip lines, suspension bridges and pendulum swings with one rappel at the end of the tour. For hundreds of years people only dared glimpse into the depth of the Saaser Vispa canyon. Nowadays we glide down its center via iron cables, pegs and ladders. While perhaps being intimidating at the start, butterfly-filled stomachs and wobbly knees will give way to smiles and screams of triumph while overcoming the forces of gravity through natural terrain. The canyon adventure is the event for groups, clubs and families.   +  Easy tour +  No special fitness requirements   Equipment included: All participants are provided with a helmet, climbing harness and via ferrata equipment.   Variations:   Summer Tour When On request Duration 3-4hrs Price CHF 115 per person (incl. taxi) min. 4/max. 7 persons Winter Tour When On request Duration 2-3hrs Price CHF 85 per person (incl. taxi) min. 4/max. 7 persons   Private tours - for private groups, incentives & events: The Alpine Canyon Adventure can be done all year round and is a perfect activity for private groups or corporate event. Forest Fun Park

Home to Europe’s highest zipline, adrenaline, freedom and fun: this summer, the Saas-Fee Guides are taking over the village’s Adventure Forest, a rope park hidden high among the trees. The rope park, set within the forest just above the bottom station of the Alpin Express, was opened back in 2006. Since then, the Adventure Forest has gradually expanded, and it now consists of four different zones. As you progress from one zone to the next, the obstacles suspended high amongst the trees become increasingly hard to overcome. At the end of each zone, tree-climbing adventurers zipline back down to the forest floor.   Opening times (click here for mobile) 19.06 - 29.06 and 03.09 - 21.10 Open Tues - Thurs and weekends 12:00 – 18:00 Last entry: 16:00 30.06 - 02.09 Open daily 10:00 – 19:00 Last entry: 17:00   Admission Main park Adults (18 years +) CHF 36.00 Teenagers (13-18 years) CHF 29.00 Children (up to 12 years) CHF 24.00   Kid's park Children (4-12 years) CHF 20.00 Teenagers (13-16 years) CHF 23.00 Main park group entry (10+ people) Adults (18 years +) CHF 29.00 School classes and sports teams up to 18 years* CHF 23.00 *One accompanying adult per 8 young people (up to 18 years) goes free.   Kids park group entry (10+ people) Children (4-12 years) CHF 16.00 Youths (13-16 years) CHF 19.00   Birthday special Free entry when you visit on your birthday! By prior arrangement, the team can open the rope park on Mondays or Fridays throughout the low season, for groups of ten or more.   Age and height requirements Admittance to the main Adventure Forest is for participants aged ten years and over, and a minimum of 145 centimetres tall. Bear in mind that the obstacle course is best-suited to people with a head for heights. The kids’ park can be enjoyed by children of any height who are over the age of four, and parents are able to watch from the ground.   Equipment and specifics All you need to enjoy the adventure forest is a pair of closed-toe shoes and a sense of adventure. The park team will provide a harness complete with twin "CLic-iT" carabiners, a helmet and a pair of gloves. For safety reasons, skirts are not permitted, and long hair must be tied back. You can deposit any valuables in the lodge at the entrance to the park. If you would like to take a camera or smartphone, we can provide a small bag which attaches to your climbing harness (the park accepts no liability for loss or damage).   Time Allow half a day to visit the rope park. Normally, the time spent on the ropes and obstacle course itself is three to four hours.   Safety Our park rangers look after every detail, from helping with your harness to inspecting the rope park’s infrastructure and safety equipment on a daily basis. In addition to a harness, you are provided with a helmet and gloves. In a half-hour introductory session, you will get to grips with getting around the park and become familiar with your kit, before getting the chance to put what you’ve just learnt in to practise under the watchful eye of a park ranger. When you’re ready, you and your climbing companions are let loose in the main park. You’re free to tackle the obstacles on your own but our park rangers are around at all times to lend a hand.

ISTA Avalanche Awareness Training

STEP 1: ISTA DISCOVERY Are you a snow sports enthusiast and an occasional backcountry practitioner? Have you always wanted to know what skills are needed to stay safe in the mountains? Become familiar with basic avalanche risk management and join the ISTA community. What will you learn? The DISCOVERY course is a one-day initiation to the ISTA program. You will learn about the ISTA philosophy and discover basic backcountry risk prevention. You will also be introduced to the scope of skills required to stay safe in the mountains. The main goal is to inspire you to continue learning. At the end of the course, you will be able to follow the entire risk assessment process with the help of your manual. The course structure is based on a typical day in the mountains. From the first contact with the group to the debrief at the end of the day, you will easily be able to follow every step of the scenario as it unfolds. The entire day is fun combination of theory and practical workshops: The course starts with a breakdown of the ISTA method, the individual and the environment, and resulting risk factors. Risk assessment, identification and travel on safe terrain are covered in the afternoon. At the end of the day, you will learn how to manage a crisis situation and search for avalanche burial victims.   STEP 2: ISTA ST1 Are you a snow sports enthusiast with some backcountry experience? Do you have an understanding of the risks involved and wish to increase your safety, freedom and pleasure in the mountains? Master the entire risk management process and understand the extensive knowledge needed for backcountry recreation. What will you learn? ST1 is the entry-level course of ISTA’s progressive Snow Training courses. During two days, you will acquire fundamental skills and basic knowledge required to carry out the risk management process, implement rescue procedures and use rescue equipment. At the end of the course, you will be able with the help of the course your manual, to implement the risk assessment process, identify favorable and unfavorable terrain, implement the avalanche rescue procedure and effectively use rescue gear. Placed in a trusted environment, you will be motivated to progress. Both days are an exciting combination of theory and practical workshops: Each day is structured like a typical day in the mountains. On the morning of the first day, you will learn about the ISTA method and how to assess your mind and body thanks to the HFSA® system. You will also discover how to identify favorable and unfavorable elements in the environment and recognize the resulting risk factors. The afternoon covers knowledge necessary to identify safe terrain and how to communicate and travel in backcountry. You will also learn how to use rescue gear and implement the avalanche rescue procedure. The second day follows a similar structure and will allow you to assimilate the risk management process and reinforce your skills.
